Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017

First of all I would like to wish whoever is reading this a very Happy New Year! Hope you all had lovely nights! We spent ours with family, having a few drinks (although not too many because of the baby!)

2016 has been a strange year and a year that could of been a lot worse if it wasn’t for the amazing support of my family, friends and complete strangers and love from my beautiful daughter! Developing alopecia without these people around me could have made 2016 a very different year, instead it has taught me a positive life lesson. It is about what we look like, it’s about who we are on the inside! Soppy I know but in a world dominated by media culture slamming the way women and men look. Everyone is too fat or too thin. Doesn’t have even make up on, has too much make up on! I could go on forever but I gather you get what I mean! There was a point when I could of let myself get sucked into a blackhole of self-loathing but then I look at Aoife and Luke who have treated me no differently and realise they are what matters and if they can accept me for the way I look, it doesn’t matter what other people thing!

So here is to 2017 and seeing the positive side of life! Make the most of what you have got and let’s look to the future not the past!

A family selfie after seeing the new year in. It’s not the perfect image you normally see on blogs. But it’s real. ❤

Thanks for reading.
