**Review** Nzuri Mama – Treats For Mums

A few weeks back I was approached by the lovely Aisha of Nzuri Mama to review a gift box of delicious treats aimed at new mums! Being the sweet tooth that I am I jumped at the chance!

First, lets start with a bit of Nzuri Mama’s backstory and how they came about!

Aisha has currently chosen to be a Stay at Home mother to her 7 month old daughter. Here is what she had to say about how she started out…

Throughout my pregnancy I knew I really wanted to breastfeed. However, I’m sure like many of you, I kept hearing how difficult it could be from both health professionals and Mummy friends.

In order to combat those difficulties in breastfeeding, I researched and spent hours reading about natural ways of boosting breastmilk supply and avoiding mastitis.

In my last week of pregnancy I decided to try baking some lactation cookies, I made a whole load! I sent some to two of my friends who had recently just had babies and were struggling at the time with their milk supply.

I recieved positive feedback from my friends, they told me that the cookies had worked to boost their milk supply and that they were yummy!

When my baby came along I struggled with the constant feeding pattern. First, an oversupply of breastmilk and then an under supply, as well as on top of that complete exhaustion! That’s when I remembered my cookies!! OMG… what a life saver they were, within a few hours of eating the cookies my breastmilk was flowing freely, without a struggle and my baby was thriving.

As my baby grows I find that doing things one handed becomes the norm! As does, at times forgetting to feed myself and grabbing whatever is convenient… usually biscuits…

I then started looking into energy boosting snacks that could keep my sweet tooth happy but be kinder on my waistline… and so followed the Energy Balls and Brownie Bites!

I love to bake for myself and others, I find it so therapeutic. Everything I sell is homemade and baked fresh with love and care, everything is packed with natural energy boosting ingredients.

My products are made strictly for mums… come on ladies, we need and deserve a treat all to ourselves!”

Now, onto the delicious products I recieved! The products arrived hand delivered by Aisha herself, in a beautiful card box. Inside the box, all the products were individually packaged with a full list of ingredients. Also inside the box was a product list detailing a bit about the products and where to store them!

Milk Choc and White Choc Chip Lactation Cookies – Oh my goodness these were absolutely delicious! I had to hide to eat them at home so my biscuit mad daughter didn’t try to steal them haha! Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the lactation effects as I am currently pregnant and although still feeding my toddler my supply is compromised! But I will update on that as I will be ordering some of these once the baby arrives!

Salted Caramel Brownie Bites – I think these were my favourite of all the products in the gift box! They were light and incredibly moreish with a lovely chocolate flavour. Unfortunately, I only ate about half of the pack as apparently my partner enjoyed these too!

Chocolate Energy Balls – These are lovely for a bit of an energy boost. The peanut butter flavour comes through very strongly. They are very rich, I couldn’t eat more than one at a time which for me made them last a few days!

Lemon and Coconut Balls – These are perfect if you love coconut! Unfortunately, I am not a massive coconut fan but I still found them a very enjoyable snack. Some lovely natural flavours packed in them!

Thank you to Aisha for giving me the opportunity to try these delicious products! You can find her facebook page here. Nzuri Mama is also on instagram… you can find her here.

Thank you for reading!
