Every Week Is Real Nappy Week Here!

As you may or may not have known Real Nappy Week has recently occurred. Real nappy week was devised as a way of raising awareness of cloth nappies and encourage others to give them a try! I personally am a huge fan of cloth nappies having used them with both of my children!

I began using cloth nappies in 2016, when my eldest child, Aoife, was around 12 weeks old. To begin with we used them on a part time basis at home and in the day time only as I got to grips with them. I gradually became more confident and eventually we were full time cloth by the time Aoife was 6 months old. I didn’t introduce cloth wipes until Aoife was around 2 years old and I was pregnant with my youngest child, Cassius.

Cassius has been in cloth nappies pretty much since birth (I used newborn sized ones but he was so tiny even they were huge on him!) I couldn’t actually tell you what initially made me consider using cloth nappies, my brain has suffered far too much sleep deprivation for me to remember! One thing that I do know is that I glad of my choice as I would of contributed a horrific amount of nappies to landfill if it wasn’t for the fact I used cloth! Not only am I doing my part to protect the environment, I am saving money and my kids butt looks cute in the process!

Do you use cloth nappies? Have you considered it but don’t know where to begin? Let me know in the comments below!
